Price up a job before you start it, and hand the customer something on paper instead of a number said out loud. Fill in your line items, add tax, set a valid-until date, and download an EST-numbered PDF, free, with no account and no charge at the download step.
An estimate is a considered projection, not a promise: the price is your best read of the work, and everyone understands it can move if the job turns out bigger than it looked. That is the difference from a quote, which is a firm offer. Both are modes of the same RaveRep document tool, alongside the invoice generator and the receipt maker, so the paperwork a customer gets at every stage of the job looks like it came from one business.
Add your business name, email, phone and address plus an optional PNG or JPEG logo, a bill-to block, as many line items as the job needs, one tax rate, and a notes or terms block. Pick from seven currencies, USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, INR and JPY. The PDF is generated on your own device, so RaveRep never sees your customer or your prices, and your business details and logo are remembered in that browser's local storage for next time. The valid-until date is simply printed on the document: nothing expires by itself and no reminders are sent. Anonymous downloads carry a small centred RaveRep line at the foot of the page, and a free account removes it.
